Photo Three 'Kawakawa Bay' 365/3

Went on a bit of a road trip today and saw beaches that I didn't realise existed only 20 minutes from where we live. I used to go through Kawakawa Bay to Orere Point on a regular basis as there was a school out there I used to visit. Orere Point is a secluded beach that has stunning views over to the Coromandel. I will have to come back here to take photos in early December as the overhanging Pohutukawa trees are magnificent, and when they are in full flower are bound to be breath taking. There were quite a few people there but the beach was not crowded. No wonder they call it a hideaway beach.
But the real find was when we drove back to Kawakawa Bay and turned right down a no exit street. You can see in the map below where the marker is for Kawakawa Bay, continue along the right and you can see where the road goes around the coast until it stops.

This took us past the boat club and then further onto beach after beach. It was a very narrow road that went on for several kilometres with fantastic views of sea, islands and beaches. Lots of people were fishing and swimming but again no way was it crowded at all. This is definitely one place we will be visiting again on a regular basis.
